Colombia to Purchase Raw material from Ecuador
The Colombian government is willing to buy ecuadorian raw materials to be transformed and exported to third countries that belong to Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
Sergio Diaz-Granados, Colombian Minister made the announcement yesterday after completing the summit of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN). Thus, the neighboring country seeks to increase imports from Ecuador.
Colombia has signed FTA with Switzerland, Canada and the U.S., the latter will become operational in 2012, pending approval by the European Parliament, the treaty with the European Union (EU) and negotiates one with South Korea.
Diaz-Granados said that institutions that promote exports from the Andean develop a plan to increase purchases between members of the Andean countries.
