Eddie Murphy Leaves Oscars Telecast
Posted On 09 Nov 2011
According to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences informed that actor Eddie Murphy is dropping out as host of the Oscars telecast. The hasty departures represented a shameful collapse of the Academy’s plans for the Oscar presentation.
Now the producers of the event must fill key roles for one of the most elaborated staged television events in three months.
Brett Ratner, who was named the Oscar co-producer on August 4, resigned this Tuesday due to the furor over anti-gay rants on Howard Stern’s radio program on Sirius XM Radio Show. Murphy subsequently abandoned this Wednesday his role in the event in order to follow the steps of his friend, Ratner. (AV)
