Constitutional Judge takes the request of the “Rafael With You Always” polítical group

Constitutional judge Francisco Butiñá has assumed the request of the Rafael With You Always collective, which seeks a referendum to allow the reelection of President Rafael Correa, according to the website of daily El Comercio.

Judge Butiñá has requested that the parties involved: the collective, the president of the National Assembly, Gabriela Rivadeneira, and State Attorney General Diego Garcia are notified.

The aim of the group is to repeal the second transitional measure of the constitutional amendments approved in December by the National Assembly, which prevent that indefinite reelection, permitted by these amendments, take effect in the 2017 elections.
