Coronavirus cases in Ecuador April 1, at 17:00: 2758 infected

The Minister of Health, Juan Carlos Zevallos, updated this Wednesday the numbers of people infected with coronavirus in the country. There are 2,758 confirmed cases of COVID-19. In addition, there are 98 people who have died from this disease.

The official denied that the doctors or the National Government are hiding figures. He mentioned that more than 9000 tests have been done nationwide. He recalled that the number of infected people does not reveal the exact amount, but the real extent of the disease will gradually be known.
He assured that in the Monte Sinaí hospital in Guayaquil, there are 130 beds available to serve patients with COVID-19, as well as 37 spaces in the intensive care unit of that establishment.
