Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos arrived at 09:08 to the Luis Mantilla Airport, where President Rafael Correa received him along with almost 200 journalists.
The reason for his arrival was the “historical” first Binational Cabinet Meeting Ecuador-Colombia. “I come with the affection of the 47 million Colombians,” said Santos.
It is the first time that the presidents meet along with their cabinets, an idea proposed by Ecuador, which holds similar meetings with Peru and Venezuela.
The cabinet is being held behind closed doors at the University of Carchi, which will open at 16:10 so the resolutions on issues such as drug trafficking, illegal mining and bilateral trade can be known. (MZ)
