Correa attended Funeral Chapel of Chavez

The president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, arrived yesterday at 07:00 in the evening at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas along with his wife, Anne Malherbe and members of his cabinet.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elias Jaua led the Ecuadorian delegation to the Military Academy in Caracas to participate in the funeral chapel in honor of “Commander” Hugo Chavez Frias. Correa said, “Latin America grieves for the irreparable loss of a great leader.”

Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño, Communications Secretary, Fernando Alvarado, President of the National Assembly, Fernando Cordero and six assemblymen of the ruling party, Eduardo Zambrano Cabanilla, Pedro de la Cruz, Celso Maldonado Arboleda, Maria Augusta Calle, Zobeida Gudiño and Silvia Salgado Andrade, also took part in the ecuadorian delegation.

Correa is expected to return to the country today after the ceremony, which will take place at 11:00 am (Venezuela).
