Nicolas Maduro announced expansion of Chavez’s wake
The body of the late president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, will be exposed indefinitely in the place where his career began, a military museum since he led a failed coup attempt in 1992.
Maduro said that this will be his first resting place and announced that Chavez’s body will remain for seven days at the Military Academy for the Venezuelans to see their ruler. This is after the official funeral scheduled for today starting at 11 am.
Venezuelan Vice President added that he will “prepare the body of the president commander for embalming to be open forever… as is Ho Chi Minh, as is Vladimir Lenin, and Mao Tse-Tung’s.”
The embalmed body of Chavez would be exhibited in the museum of the Military Academy, west of Caracas, the same place where the remains of Chavez are veiled since last Wednesday.
“The body of our commander in chief will be embalmed in the Museum of the Revolution in a special way, so that he can remain in a crystal urn so that our people can have him forever,” said Maduro.
