Correa “authorizes” the CNE to discard false signatures from AP
The Alianza Pais movement (AP for its Spanish acronym) disagrees with the National Electoral Council (CNE for ist Spanish acronym) to extend the deadline with 50 days for registered political organizations to submit the signatures required if irregularities are detected.
For President Rafael Correa these organizations must be “erased” from the electoral register because they would have acquired databases to corrupt the rubrics and register.
In a press conference at the headquarters of his movement, Correa backed the CNE’s decision of last Sunday, “to review 100% of the signatures of the registered parties”.
Correa said he is not afraid that his signatures, with any evidence of tampering, get discarded because he is certain that his party collected the signatures through popular support. MZ
