Correa can not use his weekly report to introduce candidates
Domingo Paredes, president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), warned the leader of the regime, Rafael Correa, that he cannot introduce the different candidates of Alianza PAIS movement (AP) during his saturday broadcast, nor other government informative broadcasts.
During an interview with Radio City, Paredes said that even though the President, as the President, has the right to inform the public about his activities, ” to use these public spaces to promote the figures of people who are candidates to the sectional governments is not right”.
The official expressed also concern for the radial broadcasts issued by officials seeking re-election in Guayas.
“There is an abuse of accountability that should be annual. By resolution of the Council of citizen participation those accountability were suspended until March”, added Paredes.
Yesterday, brigades of the CNE and the Comptroller’s Office continued to carry out tours in different cantons of Guayas to find evidence of early campaign.
The electoral campaign will start on January 7 and will last 45 days.
