President Rafael Correa speaks of human developing bonus increase
During a discussion with the Association of Broadcasters of Ecuador, President Rafael Correa confirmed that his government is developing a tax package with the purpose of increasing the human development bonus from $ 35 to $ 50.
The proposed increase of bonus was raised by the businessman, Guillermo Lasso, last Saturday September 29 in the city of Portoviejo during the launch of his presidential candidacy.
“Good thing there is a consensus, that a banker speaks it (Guillermo Lasso), also the best ally of Washington (Lucio Gutiérrez), how good is that bankers are quietly and businessmen are agree. So now that everyone agrees, let’s raise the bonus to $ 50, but with adequate funding that does not comes from adjustments (subsidy) on gas because that would affect the poorest,” said the President.
The difference between the two proposals of increase lies in financing, while President Correa proposes removing certain perks and incentives that benefit the financial sector, Guillermo Lasso exposes redirect current spending of $ 295 million in advertising to the human Development Grant. (MZ)
