Correa vetoed articles of the National Councils Law for Equality
The President Rafael Correa objected articles, transitional and reformatory items from eight chapters of the draft Organic Law of the National Councils for Equality.
In the second paragraph of Article 8 of the draft, on the participation in the designation of councelors of civil society, “it is required to be a holder of rights under different themes, it is incorrect because the ownership of rights embrace all persons under Article 10 of the Constitution”, says the document of the partial veto issued by the Executive.
On Chapter II, Article 11, about the appointment of the Technical Secretary of the Equality Councils, the Executive proposes that the counselors should “have at least a bachelor´s degree because the activities the State develops should be guided by the principles of efficiency, effectiveness and quality”.
