Correa’s ministerial changes

Nine are the new changes to the ministerial ranks, which were formalized yesterday by the president, Rafael Correa, in a ceremony at the Carondelet Palace.
Moreover, Correa announced the creation of the Ministry of Commerce, which will be linked directly to the work of the Foreign Ministry.

Other data:
- The Ministry of Heritage Coordination was abolished by executive decree and taken over by the Ministry of Coordination of Strategic Sectors.
- The Coordinating Ministry of Human Talent and Knowledge shall assume the powers, functions, representations and delegations related to the cultural sector.
- Certain sports-related responsibilities will be in hands of the Coordinating Ministry of Social Development.
- The Ministry of Culture will now be called “Ministry of Culture and Heritage”.
