Posted On 04 Jul 2015
Every Saturday, the streets of Otavalo (Imbabura province), become an artisan fair where crafts and jewelry made in tagua, balsa wood, leather and other materials, and ponchos, hats, bags, scarves, hand-woven wool jackets and alpaca wool blankets are the big stars.
Domestic and foreign tourists also tend to go to the Plaza de Ponchos, which is considered the largest indigenous market in northern Ecuador.
