CREO ask for amendments to the Constitution to be rejected
The political movement Creating Opportunities (CREO for its Spanish acronym), jointly with its director César Monge, presented today to the Constitutional Court a legal writing, seeking the body to reject amendments to the Constitution, requested by legislators of PAIS.
The document explains the violations to the Constitution in which, according CREO, it would be incurred in the amendments. One of them, they explained, would be referred to Articles 114 and 144 on the presidential election, and detailed that it would violate Article 441 of the Constitution, which states that the constitutional changes that modify the basic structure must be made via referendum or initiative of a number of not less than one-third of the members of the National Assembly.
CREO also presents its objections against the related amendments to the powers of the Comptroller, protective action and municipal powers.
