Cristo del Consuelo’s procession is carried out in Guayaquil

Today from 07:00 am began the procession of Cristo del Consuelo, in Guayaquil, Catholic faith tradition that was born 53 years ago and today celebrates its 54th edition.
The procession symbolizes the passion, death and resurrection of Christ. Thousands of pilgrims participated this year to meet the Lord to remember him and do penance by recalling the ordeal before his crucifixion.
The route was 17 blocks long. It went from the temple, located in the Lizardo Garcia and the A streets and ended in the Espiritu Santo Church, in Azuay and Gallegos Lara streets, where a Mass is going to be held due to the Good Friday.
