Cruises and carts arrived in Manta

The arrival of cruise ships and touring vessels does not stop at Manta. On December14, the Norwegian Sun ocean liner and the Otello vehicle cargo vessel were docked (landed) at the one and two international docks of the Manabi port.

The tourist ship arrived with 1,700 visitors. Roberto Salazar, official of Terminal Ports of Manta (TPM), concessionaire of the port, said that both ships stayed in the port between 12 and 13 hours.

The disembarkation of passengers and vehicles boosted the tourist activity in the city. Taxi drivers waited at the exit of the cruise terminal next to the entrance to El Murcielago beach.

Justino Anchundia, owner of a taxi, said: “We wait for the gringuitos, they take them for a walk around the shipyard, some want to go to Montecristi, they pay good tips back.” Both ships sailed after 18:00 from the docks. (I)
