Virginia Limongi, miss Ecuador 2018: ‘In the pageants I am an old soul’

Virginia Limongi’s career as a model had already taken her to work in countries such as India and the Philippines where, she said, she always liked the strong features of her face, a beauty of “Hindu features”, with thick eyebrows and large eyes.
The Miss Ecuador 2018 returns to Asia in search of the Miss Universe crown. Limongi meets an official agenda of activities since the beginning of the month in Bangkok, Thailand, where the Miss Universe 2018 will be chosen on Sunday night- the morning of Monday the 17th, in Thailand.
The sovereign of 24 years was also prepared for the international event in the Philippines. Last August she traveled to Manila and remained in the Asian country for a month and a half. The preparation included catwalk, makeup,public speaking and the advice of a physical trainer. “This is the same team that prepared the Miss Universe of the Philippines, Pía Alonzo, who visited Ecuador in 2016,” said María del Carmen de Aguayo, director of Miss Ecuador.
Virginia said she wanted to know the formula of the Philippines to be almost alway samong the finalists of the Miss Universe. “I wanted to have another vision and I learned a lot, I could see the beauty contest with another perspective,” she told EL COMERCIO before the trip.
In a farewell meeting with the press, Limongi was moved to tears and recognized”weeping”, although that attribute contrasts with the security that showed in the gala final election of Miss Ecuador. “In beauty contests,I’m an old soul. I am going to give soul, life and heart for the crown, “said Limongi, who started in the reigns in 2012, when she was crowned Queen of Portoviejo and Manabí.
The Manabita traveled to the Philippines on November 14; she commissioned costumes from designers in that country. On November 28 she traveled to Thailand and on Monday she became a hummingbird in the typical costume parade.
Yesterday,the preliminary competition in which the jury selects the finalists was scheduled. In her networks, the Ecuadorian has shared photos of her journey,including two with Miss Spain, Ángela Ponce, the first transgender contestant of the contest. “Before I see a man or a woman, I always see a person. It is a way to foster respect and tolerance, “she said on the subject.
VirginiaLimongi was excited to meet the current Miss Spain, because she wanted to talkto her about the motivations she had to “face half the world (with hernomination), something worthy of admiration, because she is also fighting for her dream”. (I)
