Designs are inspired by the ethnic and the ancestral
Ecuadornews:
Álex Polo sublimated fabrics whose motifs refer to the Amazon jungle and its animals, an editorial collection inspired by the Shuar culture. Milú Espinoza recreated landscapes and ethnic characters from Chimborazo and Otavalo on the fabrics of her clothes. The Macchiavellica collection also resorted to prints, but of bright colors and vertical stripes, which evoked the rainbow flag of the native peoples of the Andes.
Three of the collections presented in the last Designer Book in Guayaquil highlighted details inspired by Andean and Amazonian cultures. The local and international development platform for the Ecuadorian fashion industry celebrated 10 years and 18 editions with a dozen runways. (I)
