Ecuador asks the suspension of the Resolution 116 on import control to the ACN

The plenary of the Committee of Foreign Trade (Comex for its Spanish acronym) requested the Andean Community of Nations (ACN) to suspend Resolution 116 of the entity as a restriction to regional trade.
This rule of 1625 establishes the import control and the obligatory nature for importers to submit recognized certificates by the Former Ecuadorian Standardization Institute .
At the Comex session, the Ministry of Industries indicated that the substitution policy establishes to comply with national and international quality standards for 150 tariff items. The goal is to protect consumers.
