Ecuador earthquake death toll surpasses 600

The death toll of the devastating 7.8M earthquake, recorded on April 16, 2016 amounts to 602. This is the report of the Secretariat of Risk Management (SGR), up to date 22 April 2016 at 20H30.
While the hope of rescuing people alive under the rubble, mainly in the cities of Portoviejo, Manta and Pedernales is maintained.
The quake also left 12,492 injured, 130 missing and 6,998 buildings destroyed at the momento.
Meanwhile, aftershocks continue in areas already affected by the quake. The Geophysical Institute reports 702 aftershocks since Saturday’s earthquake (I).
