Ecuador exhibits its tourist attractions at the Anato Colombian fair

Beaches, adventure sports and Ecuadorian culture will be exhibited as a potential tourist attraction in the 37th edition of the Anato Tourist Showcase, organized by the Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies.
For three days, Ecuador will show more than 30 countries its tourism offer, strategies, and state policies for the growth of national and world tourism. This international event will be attended by 14 co-exhibitors who, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, will show attendees the opportunities of each national destination and the tourism projects they develop in the country.
The fair will be held between February 21 and 23, 2018 at the International Business and Exhibition Center (Corferias) in Bogotá. It is expected the presence of 32 departments, more than 1,000 exhibitors from 30 countries, with an estimate that exceeds 20,000 visitors and tourism promoters, according to data published on the official website of Anato.
According to Jorge Luis Páez, Country Manager of the agency Despegar for Ecuador, the importance of being present in this type of events of the tourism industry in the region, is the possibility of interacting with the main partners of the tourism business. “In this fair will be representatives of airlines, hotels, car rental companies, etc., who attend the event from different parts of the world with the aim of strengthening commercial ties and exploring new business opportunities in common.”
Ecuador participates in this important international tourism fair in the last 15 years. There it gathers travel agencies, airlines, tourism companies, hotel chains, governmental and private entities to define the lines of work, strategies and alliances to boost tourism activity with Colombia and the world.
Ecuador intends to carry out various activities and make alliances with the Colombian market, through a promotional stand in which the main tourist options that attract the Colombian market will be highlighted.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, there will also be meetings with the executives of the Avianca air transportation company, which transfers 330,000 tourists per year; it will seek to generate strategic alliances with the Colombian tourism promoters; an attempt will be made to reach agreements with ProColombia; national emblematic products such as flowers, chocolate, coffee and toquilla straw hats will be displayed and shared; among other activities.
At the 2017 fair, Anato had the participation of 35 countries, all departments of Colombia and 16 heritage towns. A total of 36 821 visitors were registered in two and a half days of business, in which the quality of the professionals who attended was highlighted.
Colombia is within the prioritized markets for the promotion of the tourist destination Ecuador, due to its continuous growth and the historical evolution it has had in the last 10 years, which show that the Colombian market has registered an annual growth rate of 5.14 %. (I)
