Ecuador increases its banana exports

Exports of bananas from Ecuador increased by 17.22% from January to May this year. Additional 18.8 million boxes were exported, reaching 128.1 million cartons.

The statistics from the Association of Banana Exporters (AEBE for its Spanish acronym) show that during the same period of 2012 foreign sales also increased.

Exporters Association said that in total, 29 companies exported 68.7% of the Ecuadorian banana.
