Ecuador Inflation Increases in July

Food prices increases

The prices of the Ecuadorian consumers increased by 0,26%, this is a rapid growth since on June the inflation was 0,18% according to the statistics.

Prices increased rapidly during the end of 2011, in the beginning of 2012 the heavy rains destroyed the harvests and this increased the values of food. In July food and beverages started to increase their price by 0,32% and the government did not issued any statement about it.

The Ecuadorian government has prognosticated an inflation of 5,14% for the whole year. AV
