Ecuador is the Best Country for Retirement, says International Living
U.S. magazine International Living ranked Ecuador in first place as the best location in the world for retirement, for the third consecutive year; followed by Mexico, Panama, Spain and New Zealand.
Around 23 countries were investigated and based on eight categories such as: cost of living, culture, healthcare, infrastructure, security, stability, real estate, weather, and benefits for retirees. They also highlighted the low prices compared to the U.S. and Europe.
In this edition, the city of Cuenca is described as a beautiful city with colonial architecture, churches, parks, rivers and vast vegetation. International Living magazine also pointed out that Ecuador has accessible beaches, as well as cities in the highlands.
Tourism Minister, Freddy Ehlers emphasized that this rating will turn the tourism of the country’s a more productive venue with social inclusion.
