Ecuador plans to export fruits and vegetables to Russia
Posted On 12 Aug 2014
After Russia’s decision to veto the entry of food products from the EU, the United States and other Western countries, Ecuador is evaluating the products it can offer to this new market.
“Russia has decided to buy from Latin America” and that is also “an opportunity for Ecuador”, said Ecuadorian Minister of Foreign Trade Francisco Rivadeneira.
Ecuador could offer to Moscow vegetables, fruits and seafood, according to the Minister.
Rivadeneira said that Ecuador currently can not export meat products, since it is under development and the country aims that next year this sector is declared free of foot and mouth disease, which is required for exports.
