More than 100 prisoners flee from jail in Donetsk after bombing

Authorities yesterday reported the escape of more than 100 prisoners in a high security prison in eastern Ukraine after a bombing at prison facilities.
“A shell (projectile) hit a residential area of the penitentiary colony 124 in the neighborhood of Kirov” and as a result left one dead and 18 wounded, officials said.
“A riot broke out and 106 people left the center. In the morning, a few returned, ” reported the Mayor on its website.
Mayor’s spokesman Maxim Rovensky added that the fugitives include defendants by murder, robbery and rape.
“The shells also damaged headquarters, electrical installations and the industrial zone” of the prison, according to the mayor.
