Ecuador stands out in Salsa World Championship in Cali

The World Festival of Salsa held in Cali, crowned Colombia as absolute champions, after the couple composed by Nilson Castro and Angie Osorio obtained the first place in “Cali style”. The victory on the “On1” category went the also colombians Stephanie Tascon and Wader Sefuta.

In this festival, which paid tribute to cuban Singer Celia Cruz, because of the tenth anniversary of her death, participated representatives from Colombia, France, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Argentina and the United States.

In the category On1, representatives of Ecuador, Karina Baez and Diego Vera, ranked sixth with 64 points. The same fate had Diana Hernandez and Hugo Osorio, who with 76 points failed to overcome the sixth spot int he competition on  cabaret duets, won by a Colombian couple.
