Ecuador will have the first bio-business promotion center
Ecuadornews:
The agreement signed with the UTPL aims to strengthen environmental management and promote sustainable development. The Ecuadorian Ministry of the Environment signed two inter-institutional agreements with the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL), and the Corporation for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Ecuador (CEIE), for the implementation of what will be the first center for the promotion of bio-businesses.
The two agreements were signed within the framework of the Great National Agreement for Entrepreneurship and the promotion of the Bioeconomy. “The agreement signed with the UTPL aims to strengthen environmental management and promote sustainable development in Ecuador through the establishment of a Sustainable Business Center to promote initiatives in bioeconomy,” the note said.
In parallel, the agreement with CEIE will serve to “establish mechanisms for dialogue and activities that contribute to strengthening the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation,” as a basis for the policy of promoting the bioeconomy in the country. “The support of private companies is fundamental for the development of bio-businesses, since biodiversity constitutes a strategic resource for Ecuador to take advantage of a sustainable, inclusive and resilient bioeconomy,” said Environment Minister Tarsicio Granizo ceremony.
