Ecuador will hire 1,500 teachers until 2015
The governmental program I want to be a Teacher (Quiero Ser Maestro for its Spanish name) within its third phase plans to recruit 15,000 teachers who would join the fiscal magisterium in 2015. This was reported by the Assistant Secretary of Education Vanessa Calvas, in an interview with the Andes agency.
Each year about 7,000 teachers retire at national level, this is why Ecuador requires new professionals committed to this vocation, within an eligibility process that is being developed since 2013.
The current competition is also performed in Spain, where there is a considerable number of professional Ecuadorian migrants who may return to the country to contribute in the education system. In future solicitations the call will also be in the United States and Italy, confirmed Calvas.
