The president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, said on Sunday h has few expectations about the meeting to be held in a few hours with his counterpart from Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, called by his neighbor Ecuador to help them solve the diplomatic crisis they are facing.
The two leaders will meet on Monday in Quito with the mediation of the government of President Rafael Correa and the Government of Uruguay, in a context of growing tension by Maduro’s decision to close several border crossings for a month now.
“We travel tomorrow to Ecuador with the best intentions but with no expectations,” Santos wrote in his Twitter account.
