Ecuador will not send representation to new possession of Nicolás Maduro
Ecuadornews:
The president of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, reiterated on Wednesday that the Venezuelan crisis must be resolved internally. For this reason, he announced on national television and through social networks the decision of his government not to send an official delegation for the inauguration of January 10.
Although he recalled that last July the Ambassador was sent to Venezuela for support to former President Rafael Correa, Moreno returned tonight to call for dialogue and reconciliation, by peaceful and democratic means with unrestricted respect for human rights.
This week, 14 American countries, protected under the Lima Group, consider illegitimate the assumption of Maduro, which gives him a new presidential term of six years.
“The international protection of human rights is a legal and ethical obligation, it is not an intervention in internal affairs of other countries (…) Only Venezuelans can resolve their historical disagreements,” he said.
At the moment, only the president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, has confirmed his attendance. (I)
