Ecuadoreans in Madrid attend the solidarity fair to help earthquake victims

For six years, Carmen Arguello holds in Madrid a legal fight to keep the apartment she mortgaged with the financial institution Bankia but today she wanted to put aside her particular drama to join more than 200 volunteers who made possible the realization of the Solidary Food Fair.
The event was organized on the occasion of the celebration of the anniversary of the first Cry of Independence and the profits will be allocated to reconstruction projects in the affected areas by the earthquake of April 16.
About 5,000 Ecuadorians, according to estimates by Ambassador Miguel Calahorrano, attended the event that for twelve hours, from 10:00 until 22:00, brought together immigrant associations, support platforms and national artists with the aim of thanking the humanitarian actions that took place hours after the disaster.
