Ecuadorian Alex Quinonez Sets Record in Athletics semifinal at London 2012

Ecuadorian athlete Alex Quinonez classified the 200 meters semifinals, after he got the best time of the competition (20.28 seconds), beating Usain Bolt, considered the world’s fastest man at the Olympic Games in London.
Quinonez participated in the competition with number 1576 and started in lane 8. He surprised the audience of the Olympic stadium when he left on his way to Wallace Spearmon from the U.S. (20,39 seconds), the favorite one in this heat.
Quinonez, from Ecuador province Esmeraldas, will compete tomorrow in qualifying for the final test, at 14:10 GTM. (FL)
