Ecuadorian coffee will enter new markets
The quality of Ecuadorian coffee will allow you to have better prospects for export.
“We must tend to look for more than volume, quality; become producers and exporters of excellence ”, said the Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries, Iván Ontaneda, at the closing of the thirteenth edition of the Golden Cup contest.
Ontaneda said that the coffee farmer must be fully integrated into the production and marketing chain and the product traceability process, something that is highly valued by the international consumer.
To achieve this, the sector also needs full support, linked to obtaining credit and microcredit, said the Minister.
Requirements in which government institutions are working in strategic alliance with the private sector, academia and public banking, he said.
The Golden Cup contest is an event organized by the National Association of Coffee Exporters (Anecafé) and has allowed in recent years to position Ecuador in the world of specialty or boutique coffees.
This year brought together the main coffee growers in the country, baristas and international judges from the United States, Asia and Central America.
The event has changed the attitude of the producers, reflected in the application of optimal harvest and post-harvest management to obtain quality products and the improvement of prices in the international market.
