Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry: “Correa have not decided yet whether to attend the Summit of the Americas”
The Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry issued a statement today which said that President Rafael Correa has not decided yet whether to attend the Summit of the Americas to be held in Cartagena, Colombia.
The text reads that the president “did not confirm or rule out its presence in the meeting,” when asked about the issue in Turkey where he made an official visit.
The BBC contributor in Ecuador, Paul Mena, reported that in the Foreign Ministry’s website there is audio, where it is heard that the president says: “We have to analyze if we attend and continue attending this kind of summits, which neither tries nor seeks to solve the fundamental problems of our America, but they do and say what is politically correct, depending on the establishment.”
