Ecuadorian Olympic March (Men) Ends Up with No Medals

Xavier Moreno ranked 47 out of 51 competitors due to fatigue
Ecuadorian marcher Andres Chocho was eliminated after three cautions in the 50-km Olympic March of London 2012.
Chocho was the first eliminated from the competition due to badly technique movements.
The race was won by Russian Sergey Kirdyapkin, who reached the finish line in 3 hours 35 minutes 59 seconds, setting a new Olympic record, followed by Australian Jared Tallent (3h 36m 53s) and Chinese Tianfeng Si (3h 37m 16s).
After the departure of Chocho, Ecuadorian Xavier Moreno Cruz remained as the only national representative in the march.
Cruz finished in 4 hours 9 minutes and 23 seconds, and stood in position 47 of a total of 51 competitors.
Three Ecuadorian representatives remain in the Olympics, athletes Paola Perez and Yadira Guaman who will be participating in the 20-km march at 11:00 (GMT) and tomorrow Miguel Almachi will participate in the marathon at 05:00 (GMT). (MZ)
