Ecuadorian School Year is Postponed for April 16

The Deputy Minister of Education Management, Monica Franco, stated that after analyzing the situation that the heavy rains are causing several schools of different provinces, classes in the coastal region of Ecuador are now postponed until April 16. (AV)
The official explained that this measure is set for public and private schools. However if the private schools should wish to start their classes before April 16, they must set their conditions to do it. The start of the school year was scheduled for April 2.
Franco detailed that the measure was taken in order to protect the health of students and teachers alike. Since the basic services and structural problems are also concerning, as well as the flooding in some schools. (AV)
