Ecuavisa apologizes to the Minister of Defense
Ecuavisa, apologized yesterday to the Minister of Defense, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, once the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, announced on Saturday, during the citizen broadcast, that if the TV Station did not apologize to the official regime, it would take legal steps against the network.
The warning was issued trough a note that was broadcasted by the public media on the promotion of three military officers.
According to Correa, the public apologies offered by the TV Station on March 18 to the armed forces were not enough. “When we showed them that the information was completely false and threaten with legal action they apologized, but they did it to the armed forces, not to the Minister, who they wanted to harm”, he said.
In the new apology carried, Ecuavisa reiterated that the statement about the alleged favoritism in the promotion of the three officers “does not correspond to reality”.
“Ecuavisa regrets this imprecision committed autonomously and without consultations by the former Director of Televistazo and publicly presents excuses to Lady Minister of Defense”, stated yesterday the station.
