Eight children presumably stabbed are found dead in Australia
Eight children were found dead this Friday in a house in a city of northern Australia, the police reported.
The bodies of children between 18 months and 15 years, who allegedly died stabbed, were found next to a wounded woman, who according to the police could be their mother.
A black woman of about thirty years old, who the police said could be the mother of the seven children was carried in an ambulance, according to images of TV networks.
The woman was stable, so she could therefore be questioned by investigators, the police said.
Several media outlets reported that the children had been stabbed. Meanwhile, local daily Cairns Post says they were also drowned while the police has not confirmed these versions.
“We still can not identify suspects,” said the head of the regional criminal police, Bruno Asnicar. The investigators will have an eye on everyone who came in contact with the family “in the last two or three days,” he added.
