El Universo Case: Newspaper requires removal of judges
Lawyers from El Universo Newspaper, demanded Julio Sanchez, Judge of the Seventh Court of childhood and adolescence, the dismissal of the provincial head of the Transitional Council of the Judiciary, Mariella Davila and two associate judges of the Second Criminal Chamber of Guayas, Hellen Mantilla and Hector Moran, because they did not obey a judge constitutional order to clone the hard drives of the criminal divisions.
Sanchez called the parties to a hearing for today at 09:30 to determine whether the application made by El Universo is valid or not. The request made by the newspaper to clone the hard drives of the machines of these courts was based on Articles 87 and 92 of the Constitution.
The cloning of these hardwares were requested to find out more about the user Chucky-Seven, which is the alleged author of the sentence against El Universo, its officers and Emilio Palacio, former editor of Opinion, according to the defense of this media.
