EL UNIVERSO Newspaper Hearing Suspended Again

The single chamber of the National Criminal Court of Justice (CNJ) suspended once again the appeal hearing of EL UNIVERSO Newspaper, which scheduled for tomorrow, February 10. The new date hasn’t been confirmed yet.

This case adds to other suspended hearings until there is a general raffle, the case now adds itself to more than 10,000 cases inherited by the new criminal judges.

According to Maria Ximena Vintimilla, president of the Chamber, this resolution will prevent hearings to be declared failed and that litigants would go to the diligence which even not be made ​​until after the raffle and definition of the judges in charge.

After the last public raffle, last  February 7th, Vintimilla reiterated that the speakers will be the judges who decide the date and time of the hearing. She also pointed out that the raffles would be on daily basis and displayed publicly.
