Elizabeth Taylor Dies at 79
The two-time Academy Award winner Elizabeth Taylor died today at the age of 79. According to People Magazine, Sally Morrison, publicist for Elizabeth Taylor, confirmed that the British actress passed away Wednesday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after being hospitalized for congestive heart failure in February.
“Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be,” Morrison said. “She was surrounded by her children – Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd and Maria Burton,” she added.
“My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love,” said Michael Wilding.
Taylor had seven husbands in her life (Conrad Hilton, Michael Wilding, Michael Todd, Eddie Fisher and Richard Burton). She had four children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
