Emelec almost eliminated from the Sudamericana
Posted On 21 Aug 2013
After being defeated in San Carlos de Apoquindo, Santiago de Chile, by local team Universidad Catolica, Emelec now stands with one foot out of the Copa Sudamericana, since it will be very difficult for it to overcome the 0-4 from last night, on next week’s match at the Capwell.
Besides high goal difference, the blue team suffered expulsions of its defenses Lastra and Narvaez and an injury on its striker Estraqualursi, which adds to another injury on another of its starting strikers, Marlon de Jesus, from a week ago.
With a sad frame, Emelec have not lost hope of a “miracle”, said several of its members.
Tonight, also in Santiago, Independiente del Valle, another representative of Ecuador, will play against Universidad de Chile.
