Emelec seeks the crown on resumption of championship

This weekend Ecuadorian soccer championship resumes after a pause that allowed the preparatory games fot the Ecuadorian team against Argentina (0-0) and Honduras (2-2,) and the main attraction is the match, in Salgonquí , between Emelec and Independiente del Valle, rivals to win the second stage.

The blue team has 37 points and its opponent 31. If Emelec wins, it would be  three dates away for the end of the season in a very difficult position to be reached by the other teams, Universidad Catolica, which will face Manta as visitor and Independiente, with nine points less.

Club Sport Emelec is getting closer to becoming the overall champion of the national soccer tournament, as if they win the second stage, Emelec would achieve the title without having to play a final, because they won the first stage.

The other games are: El Nacional vs Deportivo Quito in the Atahualpa stadium, and Barcelona vs Liga de Quito, at the Monumental. These four teams aspire to reach stellar positions to access international tournaments.

Now with less importance, but struggling not to fall into the B series, Liga de Loja will face Macara, in Loja, and Deportivo Quevedo against Cuenca at the 7 de Octubre Stadium.
