Employers and syndicates expect OIT criteria
The Labour Code draft project was taken to the International Labour Organization (OIT) to obtain technical comments on the text.
The Ecuadorian Business Committee (CEE) and four central syndicates of the Labor Ecuadorian Parliament (PLE) came to the OIT to establish methodologies that enable them to make observations and joint proposals on the draft.
Elizabeth Tinoco, OIT Director, confirmed that the reading will take three months, for this reason, unions asked patience to the regime to submit it to debate at the Legislative. They say they are concerned about the deadlines posed by the government.
“Times here can not be accelerated. they have to be given based on the need to build a representative code of workers, we are not rushing anything,” said yesterday Fernando Ibarra, President of the PLE, in a dialogue with journalists.
