Enrique Ponce Luque, Emelec Former President Passes Away

Yesterday night Enrique Ponce Luque, president of Club Sport Emelec, better known as ‘Don Peche‘ passed away.

His death occurred in the city of Guayaquil and the news was confirmed by his nephew, Antonio Noboa, current president of Barcelona Sporting Club, through his Twitter account.

“With great sorrow my uncle Enrique Ponce Luque has died (…) a man whose ideals have always been the truth, work and equity,” wrote Noboa in the social network.

His remains are being veiled in Parque de la Paz Cemetery and the funeral will be held today at 05:00pm (GMT).

During his administration, Don Peche won the Emelec championship in 1994, 2001 and 20020.
