Evidence confirms that the fire was caused by domestic violence
Víctor Moncada, Flagrancy judge, ordered the preventive detention for Gabriel Murillo, for allegedly causing the burned in the citadel La Floresta, South of Guayaquil, a case of violence against women, where five children were killed in the fire.
The prosecutor investigating the case, Francisco Bodero, indicated that the survey carried out by the Department of Criminology found waste of fuel or accelerator in the crime scene.
According to Bodero, also was ruled out the possibility of that fire was caused by a short circuit, or the detonation of a housing gas tank, which support the hypothesis that the fire was caused by Murillo, former partner of Karen Flores, the mother of the now deceased children.
The wake of the minors was attended by family members and neighbors, including several children, and school mates, who, according to neighbors, still have nightmares at night and which confirms that not only the women are victims gender-based violence but the children as well.
The news generated great commotion in the sector, as the topic of conversation of adults around the tragedy, became the nightmare of infants.
In Ecuador, according to figures from the national survey of family relations and violence against women, prepared by the INEC, in 2012, in the country, six out of 10 women have experienced some form of gender violence and of of all the women have experienced physical violence, 87.3% did so in their relationships.
