Exclusive: Ecuadorians on Course to International Miami Beach Fashion Week
The LATIN FASHION WEEKS COUNCIL DESIGNER SHOWCASE (LFWCDS) as the runway is called, will be filled with the work of Ecuadorian designers like Paulina Anda, Maria Del Mar Proano, Monica Campana and Pedro Cueva. Their work will be displayed at the MIAMI BEACH INTERNATIONAL FASHION WEEK, which would be held from March 21 to 24 in the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The designers will travel along with Cecilia Niemes, representative of LFWCDS and vice president of the Association of Fashion Weeks of Latin America. Niemes will work on promoting the Latin American designers in the North American festival.
“I am truly optimistic with the creative staff that will represent the country. Thanks to the treaty we have with MBIFW, whose president, Beth Sobol, chose me to lead the Latin American runway…” added Niemes who will travel to Miami sponsored by Industrial Molinera.
Maria Proaño (Machala) will introduce her Purple Fucsia collection, inspired by the feminine allure. While Paulina Anda (Quito) captures the urban romanticism of her shoes made with different materials and their Makiatto purses, Monica Campaña (Guayaquil) will present her line of dresses characterized by their classic elegance with details that go from the vintage to more modern styles. Meanwhile Pedro Cueva (Cuenca) will launch his brand Peter Cave that is focused in the design of formal suits for men.
The Ukrainian model Ilona Nesterova and the Ecuadorian Maria Jose Gutierrez will model for Ecuadorian designers in Miami.
Ilona Nesterova has maintained in touch with Cecilia Niemes to work together now the famous Ukrainian model could met her, afterwards she said “This is not the first time we’ve met, but it’s been good to have her as an acquaintance because she is so kind and so wonderful.” Nesterova eagerly waits to travel with Niemes in this project.
