Posted On 13 Mar 2012
During the second half of the year, a research center in Brazil called Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) will begin testing in humans a drug developed specifically to treat AIDS in children.
Fiocruz researchers gathered in a single tablet the actives Lamivudine, Zidovudine and Nevirapine, three of the 16 used in the fight against AIDS.
If results are successful, the medicine will be available in 2014.
