This morning Mark Zuckerberg CEO of the social networking site Facebook announced that the company surpassed the barrier of 1,000 million active users.

‘This morning, there are more than one billion people using Facebook actively each month,'(…) Helping to 1,000 million people in touch is amazing, it makes you humble and is by far the thing I’m most proud of in my life, “said Zuckerberg in a statement.

Despite this, many analysts still doubt the ability of Facebook to generate revenue. Many are divided over whether Facebook can use their huge user base to monetize their advertising and make money, while remaining faithful to the objective of Zuckerberg to make it a service to connect to the world.
